Admissions Requirements

Applications can be submitted from either the Common Application or the Coalition Application on Scoir. Students may only submit one application. MHC requires the following materials to be a part of your application:

  • Official high school transcript

  • Counselor letter of recommendation

  • Two teacher letters of recommendation (from core academic courses, such as English, Foreign Language, History/Social Studies, Mathematics, and Sciences).

Mount Holyoke has been test-optional since 2001, recognizing that barriers exist between certain populations of students and effective test-preparation. We encourage students to submit standardized test scores if they are proud of how they performed, or if they think the test scores help to share more of their capability in a subject. Choosing not to submit scores will never pose a negative impact.

Other optional parts of the application include:

  • College Interview (can be scheduled virtually or in person)

  • Mount Holyoke College writing supplement

  • Art Supplement

How does your college support students who are interest in careers in the trades?

Students who are interested in careers in the trades can always take advantage of Mount Holyoke’s Career Development Center (CDC) which supports students through resume workshops, cover letters 101, networking with alums and future employees, and providing students with business professional outfits (at no cost). Students can connect with the CDC at any point in their time at Mount Holyoke as well as up to 5 years post graduation.
